An enormous sandstone chaos traces of tools dating from the Mesolithic era (Tardenoisian period), within a wooded setting 'bordered’ by the territories of Coincy, Bruyères-sur-Fère and Villeneuve-sur-fère. Emerging from very light grey sand, the rocks carved by erosion offer a number of small caves or on the contrary to vast surfaces or volumes to which local tradition has given poetic names such as: ‘geyn’ (giant), ‘baleine’ (whale), etc. It is a pleasant place for walking and rock climbing. The site has been developed by the academy of the Natural Sites of Picardy.

A holiday with family or friends is bound to be a success at the Ailette Center Parcs

The area surrounding the village also has much to offer – forests for hiking, nature trails for observing the local plant and wildlife. Culture and history can also be on the agenda as the major World War I remembrance sites of the Chemin des Dames and the Centre d’Accueil du Visiteur - Caverne du Dragon are not far away.

The 40-hectare Axo-Plage leisure centre includes a sandy beach, supervised swimming area, play village, sports field, pedalos, baby boats, picnic facilities, bird-watching observatory and grassy esplanade for old and young alike. The foodtrucks and snack bar are ideal for recharging your energy between activities. The site also offers 10 hectares of wet grassland classed as a “protected natural area” which can be explored on our educational trail....
